Graduates from the Departments of Universities in Greece and similar recognized institutions abroad are admitted to the MSc. Graduates of the Departments of Technical Universities are also accepted. Also, graduating students from domestic institutions are accepted, provided that they have completed their obligations and have submitted a relevant certificate of completion of studies by the date of enrolment in the MSc.
The Diploma of Postgraduate Studies is not awarded to a student whose first cycle degree from a foreign institution has not been recognized by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (Hellenic NARIC), in accordance with Law 3328/2005 (A’ 80) relevant par. 7 of article 34 of Law 4485/17.

1. For the selection of the students who will attend the MSc, the following is required:

a) a degree from a University or a Technical University of the domestic territory or from equivalent recognised institutions of foreign countries

b) sufficient knowledge (level B2) of at least one foreign language, as attested by the foreign language certificates or, in their absence, by a written examination in the understanding and interpretation of a scientific text in a foreign language; and

(c) proficiency in the use of computers (word processing (word), excel spreadsheets and power point presentations, basic internet services), as evidenced by relevant certificates or, failing that, by an examination in the use of computers.

2. For the selection of the students who will attend the MSc:

α) Specific qualifications of the candidates:
The special qualifications of the candidates, as they result from the documents submitted by the candidates to the Department, are recorded by the Department’s Secretariat and then evaluated and scored by the Examination/Selection Committee.

(b) Oral interview of the candidates

For the selection of candidates to the MSc, an oral interview is conducted. The performance of the candidates during the oral interview is taken into account for the selection of the candidates for the MSc. The maximum number of credits that a candidate can receive from the oral interview is 50 credits, corresponding to 30% of the total evaluation.

The oral interview is conducted on issues of broader pedagogical, scientific and social interest and aims to:

  • the determination of the candidate’s bibliographical knowledge in the field of the MSc, according to the relevant notice.
  • determine the general and systematic scientific knowledge of the candidate and the formation of his/her personality.
  • the identification of specific skills and other characteristics and activities of the candidate.
  • the identification of particularities and other elements which the candidate possesses and which may play a role in his/her smooth integration into the program.

The maximum number of admissions is set at forty-five (45) postgraduate students per year.
