Attendance of the Seminars and Laboratory courses is compulsory, while distance learning is possible up to 100%.

The educational meetings of each semester are held in four cycles on specific days, including weekends and holidays, in order to facilitate the participation of students who are professionally engaged.

Meetings for the delivery of the MSc courses are conducted online, using digital e-learning environments at a rate of up to 100%. Some of the courses can be held in person, at the Department’s headquarters, at the premises of the School of Humanities of the University of the Aegean. The schedule of the meetings, as well as the ones that may be held in person, is announced to the students in good time at the beginning of each academic semester.

Participation and attendance of the distance learning activities is done through modern and asynchronous e-learning systems belonging to the infrastructure of the University of the Aegean. Asynchronous e-learning may not exceed 25% of the credit hours of the MSc. In particular, for the provision of synchronous e-learning the BBB (BigBlueButton) videoconferencing software and the zoom system are used, while for the provision of the asynchronous part, the Moodle and OpenClass learning management systems are used. Lectures, seminars and workshops are designed and organised on the basis of interactive teaching-learning processes.

Each semester course includes a minimum of 39 hours of instruction consisting of thirteen (13) education and learning modules and involves a specific pedagogical package of objectives, assignments, literature, expected outcomes and mode of assessment. Each module represents three (3) hours of instruction.

The distribution of course hours in the four cycles of each semester (timetable) is announced well in advance of the start of classes, based on the above model of organization. This distribution may be modified in accordance with the provisions in force at the time.

The language of instruction is Greek and some courses may be offered in English, in whole or in part, by decision of the Assembly.
The language of the dissertation shall be Greek and may also be English, following a decision of the Assembly.
